Pixel 10 Pro XL as a camera
I just went on a two-week river trip from Budapest to Amsterdam and left my $3500 camera behind in favor of my phone. I am glad it did, and exceeded most of my expectations.
Luckily, I purchased a KraftGeek Magnetic camera grip and 5000mAh charger to use with the Pixel 10. It has a very handy button that activates the shutter too.
This is a very important addition because taking pictures that are enhanced using AI eats up the battery. Together, the phone and the grip have 10,200 mAh, which barely lasted a 9–5 day. One time I ran out. There may be reasons for this. The only issue with the KraftGeek is that it lost connection sometimes, and (on travel with no instructions) it was not always easy to reconnect (by Bluetooth) to my phone. The grip makes it easy to carry the phone, and I really liked the extra button to take the pictures.
Another issue is that my hands shake, and not more than 10 pictures out of 3500 exhibited any blurs due to shakiness!
All 4 cameras take 50 megapixel images, and the pictures usually have great detail. I especially like the panorama mode, which gives me a feeling of "being there." It perfectly merges multiple shots into one, unlike my Pixel 9 Pro XL, which sometimes had artifacts at borders between the multiple shots.
So here is a gallery of some of my photos. Click on them to see the full-resolution originals. These are mostly unedited, as they came out of the camera. The night view shots definitely are less sharp, but remember that I was in a moving boat.
