Xfinity has started to limit my data usage. I went to their site and got the following message:
But when I logged in, I got this:
It is now impossible to reach Comcast/Xfinity. You cannot call on the phone. They send you a message with a link to your cell, and that link usually says no one is available.
I finally got a person on the phone, I wish I knew how I did it. SHE was helpful and doubled my internet speed for less money. Why is it so hard to deal with Xfinity?
So, my new XFi Gateway does not do port forwarding. Comcast removed it from the Gateway admin console in a firmware update. That page now directs you to a dead Web page:
That page says to use the Xfinity app. (What does a user do with no cell phone??) Alas, the app does not work for me. The instructions say:
So I am using the gateway in bridged mode with my old router and am only getting 310 Mbps down speeds instead of the promised 1.2 Gbps.
