Samba (the Windows file-sharing system) has not worked properly on Macs since forever. MacOS 10.14.3 has finally fixed this! My Samba server (running on my Linux computer) now is always visible from my Mac Pro. Previously I had to restart the Samba server whenever I mounted disks.
