Pixel8 Pro — Great phone, but has issues

The AI in this phone is stunning, especially for photos. The 3 50-megapixel cameras give great detail, and the motion of my shaky hands is removed.

BUT, there are issues:

After the November 2023 update (I got the phone the day after it was released in October), my phone started rebooting every few minutes. A factory reset fixed this, but it takes over a day to set up the phone, move my music to the phone, register passports, pair balky devices, and so forth. This is even with backups to google drive for apps, data, and my Nova launcher.

2 weeks later, the reboots started again—every two minutes or so. I demanded a new phone, which I got overnight (just before Thanksgiving), and spent yesterday and today setting it up. I was just going through the developer options when suddenly the screen started blinking all purple! I rebooted and hope this does not happen again because I need the phone for a cruise—it contains my visas.

My last phone was a Samsung S22 Ultra and it always gave me T-Mobile 5g UC here at my desk. The Pixel8 Pro only gives me 5G. The modem sucks compared to the Samsung; apparently it is unchanged from the Pixel7.

Also, there is only 16-bit/44.1 kHz audio support. Samsung gave me 24 bit support.

Pairing the Pixel8 to Watch2 is a frustrating experience. It ONLY works if you do a factory reset of the watch. Then you lose all your settings.

Android File transfer does not work if Dropbox is running on my Mac. The USB cannot connect. And I had to baby the transfer of the 250 MB of my music files to the Pixel. It kept disconnecting, I think changing the USB mode out of File Transfer on the phone.
