Panasonic Electric Razor for Men, Electric Shaver, ARC6 Six-Blade Electric Razor with Pop-Up Trimmer, ES-LS8A-K
I have used of Panasonic electric shavers for decades. I finally decided to upgrade my Arc5 to an Arc6. It is a big investment, $400 when not on sale. So is it worth it??
Originally Panasonic blades were thin vertical metal pieces with no room to catch any cut hairs between the blade and the foil. But then they changed the blades to horizontal strips whose edges cut the hairs, but this allowed cut hairs to get between the blade and foil and prevented a really close shave unless the used opened the shaver and knocked out the cut hairs. I am pleased to say that Panasonic has mostly solved this issue.
Notice that unlike with the Arc5, all the 6 (now) blades are in the removable head. but more importantly, note that I knocked out the cut hairs from the body and the head, and the head hairs have almost all been pushed to the two ends of the head so they do not get between the blades and the foil. This enables me to get a good shave without knocking out the cut hairs. Note that there are now 3 types of blade.
Another improvement is the charge indicator that turns on when you lift the shaver.
Do not buy the version with the charger/cleaner. The shaver is waterproof, and putting foaming hand soap in the head, attaching it, and turning on clean mode under hot water cleans it nicely.
If you have not tried an electric shaver, this is the one to get. I gave my old Arc4 to a friend, and he said "I never knew what I was missing." The Arc6 is the ultimate in shaving.
